Since the First Graders missed their show, "Imagine That," in March due to COVID-19, we created a "virtual show" where students participated in a "virtual choir," singing the show's original opener, "Somebody Come and Play" from Sesame Street.
First Graders perform "Planting Seeds of Love" during an in-school performance of their 2019 grade-level show, If You Plant a Seed, based on the Monarch book by Kadir Nelson.
In this video, first graders at Elizabeth Ide Elementary School discuss what "Bucket Filling" means to them, as part of a grade-level production about our school theme, "Bucket Filling." For this production, I interviewed every child in first grade, and asked them questions such as the ones answered in this video. The videos were then projected as part of their spring production, Give a Little Bit.
"Any Turkey Can Tango" has become a favorite of all at our school! Here, second graders perform it for the first time in their 2016 Thanksgiving Sing.
In this video, three second grade classes at Hubbard Woods School sing "Oh My, No More Pie" for the annual Thanksgiving Sing. The students first sing the traditional version via call/response. Next, I become the "caller," and sing stories that students wrote in a storytelling unit in music class.
